Ready to have some fun? Here are five tips to ensure that your Avalla gathering is a successful one:

Timing is everything.

Choose a date and time that will be most convenient for your guests.

Create a "scene."

Use a creative theme to set the mood: "Cake and champagne" for glamour makeovers. "Beach and sun" with body scrubs and foot balms. "Deck the Halls" for holiday gift shopping.

Over-invite.

Aim for 30 or more on your guest list. The general rule is: 10 will come, 10 can't come and 10 won't come. Send a "save the date" and/or invitation (paper or e-vite) then follow up with personal phone calls about a week before.

Keep it interactive.

Encourage your guests to sample products. Let them help you serve light refreshments or choose the background music. Ask someone to be a model for a skincare or makeup demonstration.
