Bought this portable air conditioner dehumidifier in preparation for next summer along with using the dehumidifier this winter.
The S-550 was at at reduced price so definately an exellent price.
Reviews were varied as to the noise level which made me a bit concerned but the manufacturers made the point of the 30 day returns policy which gave me the confidence to purchase one along with the 2 year warrenty.
Delivery was promt, the unit was well packaged and easy to set up and with the unit on caster wheels it was eay to move around.
I was pleasantly suprised that it was in no way noisey, Yes the fan on maximum speed was as I expected and no more noisey than a decent room fan but on the lower speed it was great.
Very impressed with the air conditioner and the dehumidifier efficiency after tests.
If 2026 summer is as 2025 I am more than confident the unit will cope well.
I would recommend it to others, but do check on your room size so the unit can cope.

I have have used a fair few portable air conditioners in my time. This is by far the best built and most thought out air conditioner I have ever used, it is also far quieter than I expected, I think this is because of the brilliant quality plastic casing that the compressor is housed inn. I like the easily removeable filter on the side is a nice touch, it caught a suprising amount of fluff, I probably need to get an air purifier next, if they are anything like this Air Conditioner, I am sure I will be very happy :)Dehum filled a Jug in an hour

i suffer a lot in the summer and passout , this unit is loud so do not understand people that say it is quiet. have had a test of machine and i guess i will put up with the noise to help my health .feel less worried about the summer to normal with this a 2 year warranty is great. happy summer to all.

Very good little air conditioning unit, used it in our touring caravan whilst on holiday in Cornwall, does the job nicely.

The reasons for the rating are:
1. It is very noisy unit in either modes
2. The dehumidifier creates a very cold environment without being able to control the air temperature like in the air con mode (neither the fan power)
3. To be air con efficient needs the ventilation tube to be mounted to the window which makes the unit more difficult to use during cold weather or heavy rains.
4. The above requirements make the unit not very mobile, nevertheless during the warm weather will get 5 stars.

The unit noise is loud even when you are in a different room, doors closed. 65 dB are a lot.

Otherwise the quality is on the high side, unit is compact and when used needs the draining tube into a container otherwise all the water will get spilled on the floor/unit when trying to empty its own tank (the outlet pipe is inside the unit, hence the need to keep the draining pipe on all the time, it's very messy if you try to fit the tube when the tank is full). A better design to allow this would be nice.

Arrived and very clear base of packaging had been chewed by something. Discovered this was either by rat/mouse due to the amount of droppings in the base of the packaging. Took air con unit and packaging to tip and bought a Dyson

When this arrived it had clearly been opened by someone else before. Probably sent back by a disatisfied customer. Not only had it been opened and then badly resealed, but on opening it 'the right way up' I found that the actual appliance was in actual fact upside down. I dont suppose this would have done it any good at all. I have however set the machine up and run it in various different modes every day since delivery. It was purchased for use as an airconditioner. The room it is operating in is about 70 cubic metres, It is not effective and does not cool efficiently.
